A Seattle, Washington-based melodic doom unit in the vein of heavy atmosphere-wielders like , , , and , Year of the Cobra is a power duo based around the talents of bassist/guitarist vocalist Amy Tung Barrysmith and drummer Jon Barrysmith. Formed in 2015, the band released their debut EP, The Black Sun, shortly after inception.
