Shaped of Mississippi river mud and basement limestone, Still Animals are familiar faces from the St. Louis underground punk/HC scene. Vocalist Lee and drummer Francis have been longtime fixtures at basement gigs, the skatepark, and the hardware store, but never started a band – and approach music with all the joy, rage, and slop you’d expect from something new. Jessie (Nasty Cat Bath, Dada Gun) and Gabe (Lumpy & the Dumpers, Ace of Spit, Fried E/M) keep the strings on the rails while Lee howls love songs and attacks techno-fascism and big money with the unhinged conviction of David Peel and Doc Dart.
