Bats is the project of Jess Awh: a musician and carpenter based in Nashville, TN. Her last album, Blue Cabinet, was released in 2022 and endeared listeners with its lyrically driven, intimate alt-country sound. Her live band skillfully applies traditional country band instruments like fiddle and pedal steel guitar to a contemporary, stream-of-consciousness songwriting style, peppering in samples, drum machines, and fuzzed-out guitars for an ultimately unique blend of Nashville hometown influence and indie rock sensibilities.
